Recently, a hot rumour is spread on social networking, the iPhone 13 price could be more expensive than its previous iPhone series because of the power of the new chip.
According to a report from DigiTimes, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, or call named TSMC, is considered to spend more on making its chips. However, this cost has passed to the companies that use it as a supplier.
And Apple is one of those customers, who also rely on TSMC to produce chips that supply power to the iPhone.
As shown in the report, the price has increased up to 20% since January 2022. The report also claimed that the price is expected to rise between 3 and 10 per cent. Apple is experiencing a 3 to 5 per cent price period hike due to the process that Apple is applying now. And Apple is likely to pass it to customers by making a price higher for the new iPhone.
Apple is not the first company affected by this, others producers have been doing the same action. Currently, these new reports are based on sources within the supply chain and haven’t been confirmed yet.
There are so many problems in producing chips, including TSMC, the rumours have spread faster. Due to the widespread shortage of processors, used for smartwatches and cars, all kinds of chips are more expensive than ever and lead to these shortage circumstances such as people looking to buy the PlayStation 5 before.
And Apple has supposed that these problems can affect their products, the difficulties in making chips can lead to problems for both the iPhone and the iPad.
Apple intends to publish their new iPhone in the next few weeks. Also planning to host a virtual event in mid-September, the new phones will be on sale around a week and a half after that.
There are so many rumours about the new iPhone. And one of them is that the new phone includes significant camera upgrades and the reduction of the size of the “notch” at the top of the display. However, there is no change from the current iPhone 12 line-up in the basics.
Besides that, Apple is supposed to release the new Apple Watch Series 7 along with an updated version of the AirPods at the same time.
